View a special screening of "The Six Triple Eight" documentary at the Museum of Photographic Art (MOPA) in Balboa Park. Tickets are available through Eventbrite and must be purchased in advance.

The 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, known as the Six Triple Eight, was the only all-Black Female Battalion to serve in Europe during WWII. Confronted with racism and sexism from their own leadership and troops, they cleared a backlog of over 17 million pieces of mail ensuring troops stayed in touch with their loved ones back home. On March 14th, 2022, President Biden signed into law a Congressional Gold Medal to recognize the women of the 6888th.

A Q&A panel with co-producer Retired Army Colonel Edna W. Cummings, and family members of the 6888th, will follow the screening.

FYI
California abortion access is safe for now, but the national landscape is shifting, and some experts think we could feel the impact in our state. If you know anyone who needs this information, please share it ASAP:

California For All is the state government's webpage that explains the safe, legal abortion options in our state, and includes the  Plan C website to get medical abortion pills for immediate or future use. If stored properly, mifepristone has a shelf life of about five years, and misoprostol has a shelf life of about two years.

Some folks are stocking up in the event these drugs cannot be accessed in the future. Read this Reuters news article for more information about the court case currently being decided in TX.

We are keeping an eye on potential NY, GA, and DOJ Trump indictments. A Rapid Response is being planned in San Diego when an indictment drops. We will let you know as soon as we know the details. If you want to get the information directly, sign up with Not Above The Law.

If you want to encourage more Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in Carlsbad Union School District schools, read and sign this Change.org petition
